Have u got your ear on? You got to tune in to listen to God
Jesus: Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted!” When he had said this, he called out, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” Luke 8:8
Why is it important?
1) It proves I'm in God's family
2) It protexts me from mistakes, when u listen to God on daily basic.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:6
3) It produces success in life
God want u to be success in ur life
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. Psalm 32:8
Parable of the Farmer Scattering Seed Luke 8
Human have 4 type of response to God
How to hear God?
1) I must cultivate an open mind
A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it. Luke 8:5
The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message, only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved.Luke 8:12
- Position correctly to hear God message
- The hardened soild = A closed mind
- What causes a close mind?
- Pride (harden mind)
- Fear (metal blocked)
- Bitterness (holding on to hurt, heart will grow harder & cold)
Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. James 1:21
2) I must take time to listen
Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants. Luke 8:6
The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation. Luke 8:13
- Hurry, misses all the details in life
- Slow down to hear God
- The shallow soil = A superficaial mind
- Touch but not transform
How to devopled Spirtial root?
- A daily time with God
- A weekly small group (And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25)
3) I must elimate the distractions
Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants. Luke 8:7
The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity. Luke 8:14
- Always on the go (busiest, stress-up) = Be still and know I am the God
- The soil with weeds = A preoccupied mind
3 things that cope up hearing God
Worries, riches, pleasure, neglect & many etc
4) I must cooperate with what He says!
And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest. Luke 8:15
- Good soil => hear, remember what God told me, retain it, obey it, persit it
- The good soil = A willing mind
How to bear fruits(success)?
- Tell somebody else
- Passing it on
This is the note taking by listening to online sermon. Which really remind me that I must elimate the distractions...spent too much time on what I like and forget to spent time with God.
