Tendering and changing job

I have make up my mind on changing the job. Have already told my Deputy Director today but it through the phone. Which is the least prefer method. I wanted to tell him personal but I have no choice.

I never inform my direct manager about it first because he is having his exam paper. Therefore I go directly tell my Deputy Director. After I break the news to him, he mention he will call my manager immediately. He will talk to me again tomorrow again.

I really don't wish to end up like that. It just that offer don't always come and it will never be the right time to leave a job. That is what people be telling me. At least the new job, I have better career advancement and I really can make use my degree after I graduate from NUS.
